Explore Our Garden and Campus Plants
With over 2,000 plants in the garden and 20,000 trees across campus, our Exploration Map is a resource to research, learn, and get curious about plants!
Map Features
Discover our virtual garden collections with our Exploration Map. Identify plants, browse a complete list, or explore the map to see where these plants are growing on campus. See specific collections such as Michigan native plants, medicinal plants, pollinator plants, and more. Collections categorized under Theme also include personalized class experiences!
You can also join an exploration and discover stories from the garden and our community with the Tours feature. These self-guided tours are great options for individuals, friends, and classes visiting the garden.
Supporting a Learning Community
Our Exploration Map is an excellent resource for teaching, research, and storytelling. As a shared learning space, we want to hear from you. Reach out if you would like to contribute to our virtual collections or explorations. If we are missing important plants for learning, let us know. Complete a Plant Proposal Form to add suggestions.
Additionally, data on plants as well as collecting plant material may be requested for teaching and research. Complete a Permit Form for permission to collect on campus.
