Public Tours

The W.J. Beal Botanical Garden routinely offers free tours open to the public. Please check the events page for dates, times, and topics or subscribe to our social media where details will be regularly posted.

We can also accommodate requests for tours for off-campus groups. In a typical tour we cover the history and mission of the Garden, talk about how we maintain our landscape and the collection, and point out current highlights and happenings. But for groups with specific interests we can often tailor a tour to your specific purposes. Some of our past topics have covered forensic botany for court officials, toxic plants for zoo veterinarians, scavenger hunts for 4H groups, and native plant selections for garden clubs.

To request a group tour, please fill out our tour request form and return to wjbeal@msu.edu.
